Evgeni Dimitrov

Evgeni Dimitrov is an IT professional with more than 20 years of software design, development and maintenance experience. He worked in Sydney, Australia as a software engineer for both the Unisys Corporation (1999-2007) and for the J. P. Morgan bank (2008). As a software engineer he previously worked also in London, again for the Unisys Corporation (1995-1998). In Sofia, Bulgaria, he was an IT expert for the Biochim bank (1992-1995) as well as a research associate at the Institute of Mathematics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1978-1992). His main responsibilities at NALIS are digital assets management systems. One of them is used by 4 libraries and stores digitised manuscripts, rare books, course reading, student theses, old photographs. It is based on a substantially customized version of the open source system DSpace. The other is used by one library and stores digitised serials (newspapers). Mr. Dimitrov was coordinator for the Bulgarian part of the EuropeanaPhotography project.
