Annual meeting 2018
The annual meeting of the NALIS associate members took place in the Elieff Center for Education and Culture on 16 May. The entire meeting was Webcast, with video streaming on the Facebook which gave an opportunity to the absent associates and to other interested people to get involved in the event, even though only as online viewers.
The sitting was opened by Sabina Aneva, who announced the retirement of Rumen Avramov and invited him to give his personal perspective to his work with the Foundation. His follower as the Chair person of the NALIS Board of Directors, Emilia Zankina, greeted the audience, thanked the NALIS associate members and encouraged the cultural institutions which contribute to the enlargement of the online resources organized in the NALIS network.

Sabina Aneva , the NALIS CEO, made an overview of the NALIS activities in 2017 and shared her visions for its future development. In addition, she presented the functionalities of the open source KOHA library software and mainly the copy-cataloging. See the presentation (in Bulgarian).
Ekaterina Dikova, the NALIS project manager, gave a talk on the international EU-funded project ART NOUVEAU (‘Sustainable Protection and Promotion of Art Nouveau Heritage in the Danube Region’) and the participation of NALIS in it. The initiative will end on 30 June 2019. The main engagement of NALIS in it is to develop a digital data base of photographs of Art Nouveau buildings in Sofia and the metadata to them. Juja Chakarova, the Head of the ibrary at the new Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law, a special guest of the NALIS Foundation, shared her experience in using robots for inventory and outlined other key activities in which the robots could help the librarian in her presentation Robotics in Libraries – Myth or Reality. The meeting was closed in a spirit of cooperation and goodwill.
